Hours later, the pain's still there so I decided to take a paracetamol. But even that didn't alleviate the pain.
And then, while my brother and I were cleaning the living room, I had a slight difficulty in breathing. I told my mom about this but she just dismissed it. You see, there are a lot of medicine in our house so I guess we've always had this mentality that all those could save us.
Anyway, I told her I'd diagnose myself. Haha. Being a doctor was actually my childhood dream. My dad had a stethoscope then. So I'd wait for him to come home. I'd wear his barong, which was very huge on me then so it would look like a lab gown, wear the stethoscope around my neck (I wish I had photos) and listen to their heartbeats.
And then life happened.
But the desire to be one had been rekindled when I started watching Grey's Anatomy (which reminds me, I haven't watched the latest episode yet).
So I went online and googled diseases or conditions that have headache and shortness of breath as symptoms. Here are the things that could possibly be going on inside my body (at least according to Healthline.com):
- Allergic rhinitis
- Stress and anxiety
- Flu
- Pneumonia
- Swine flu (well, there's this boar-looking creature I frequently see)
- Allergies
- Bronchitis
- Caffeine overdose (I may have had a little too much chocolate)
- Tubercolosis
- Hypertension
- Acute mountain sickness (I live near the mountains)
- Anemia
- End-stage kidney disease
- SARS
- Poliomyelitis
- Skull fracture
- Anthrax
I know I do not have enough background or whatever to even be talking about these things. But it was fun playing doctor once again. This time, however, I'm doing it with the help of the Internet and not using trusty Mr. Stethoscope. And at least I was doing it on myself and not on others. :))
P.S. When I get really bored with my life after school, the first thing I'd do is get into med school.
